Leroy Anderson war einer von Amerikas populärsten Komponisten leichter, melodiöser Orchestermusik. Berühmt wurde der Amerikaner schwedischer Abstammung vor allem durch seine Kompositionen Jazz Pizzicato, Jazz Legato, The Syncopated Clock, Fiddle Faddle, Sleigh Ride, The Typewriter und Blue Tango.
