In den Sechziger Jahren, der goldenen Phase des Bossa Nova, gehörte das brasilianische Elenco-Label zu den wichtigsten Wegbereitern dieser Musik.
Auch heute noch ist die Marke unvergessen bei allen Bossa Nova-Fans, nicht nur wegen der hohen musikalischen und technischen Qualität der Aufnahmen, sondern auch der einprägsamen Covergestaltung. Gegründet wurde Elenco von Produzent Aloysio de Oliveira, einer der einflussreichsten Persönlichkeiten der brasilianischen Musikszene, verantwortlich für bedeutende Alben von Künstlern wie Sylvia Telles, Edu Lobo, Nara Leao, Vinicius de Moraes, Sergio Mendes und vielen anderen.
In der Elenco Brazil-Serie erscheinen wichtige Alben dieser Künstler erstmals auf CD, mit Original-Cover, Songtexten und brillantem 192kHz/24BIT-Remastering.

Before hitting it big worldwide with his Brasil '66, Sergio Mendes played in many different formats. One of them was the Sergio Mendes Trio (himself on piano, Tiao Neto on bass and Chiquinho on drums), that counted on the special participation of no one other than Antonio Carlos Jobim on the guitar. And, on this record, they had the following guest stars:
Art Farmer (trumpet), Phil Woods (alto sax) and Hubert Laws (flute). An all-star team. The year was 1964, the sound was samba-jazz and the city, New York. It lasted only one album, but what an album!
