Lone Hill Jazz BSIN02219601 Ayler, Albert - Nuits De La Fondation Maeght 1970 This is the complete recording of Albert Ayler's last recorded concert - made at the Fondation Maeght, St Paul de Venice, France on July 27th 1970. Four months later he would be found dead, floating in New York's East River. Ayler is in great form, sounding wonderfully relaxed and happy to play. He was working with a relatively new line-up featuring pianist Call Cobbs, bassist Steve Tintweiss, drummer Alan Blairman and his partner Mary Maria Parks on vocals. All 8 tracks from the Maeght performance are included, with Ayler on tenor or soprano sax. We will never know how he would have developed from here.
8 Tracks.
