Mit Kenny Clarke, Red Garland, Kai Winding, Oscar Pettiford, Lee Konitz, Phineas Newborn, J.J. Johnson. Als der britische Produzent Harold Davison dem amerikanischen Format “Jazz At The Philharmonic“ des großen Jazz-Unternehmers Norman Granz Konkurrenz machen wollte, erfand er „Jazz from Carnegie Hall“. Das Projekt hatte eine kurze Lebensdauer, aber bezogen auf das Talent der Musiker auf der Bühne, gab es keinen Grund für Eifersucht. Dieses Konzert wurde am 1. Oktober 1958 aufgenommen und die auf dieser CD enthaltenen Tracks sind die einzigen, die von dieser Session noch übriggeblieben sind. Es ist die erste Veröffentlichung überhaupt dieser Aufnahmen, die das Beste des Besten der späten 50er Jahre zeigt: Die goldene Zeit des Jazz in Paris.
