Nimbus BSIN02680806 Franz Schubert Quartett Wien - Streichquartette (Korngold, Reznicek) Composer: Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek Franz Schubert Quartett Wien – Streichquartette (Korngold, Reznicek)
These two string quartets from the early 1920s by two austrian composers represent in different ways the last flowering of late romanticism. Korngold was acclaimed as "the greatest hope of German music", and was in one of his most creative periods when he composed this work. It contains the same bitter-sweet mood found in the Abschiedslieder Op. 14 and the Piano Quintet in E major, Op. 15.
