Sacred music at the Lutheran Town Church in Vienna has a long tradition dated back to the 16th century and is continued by the choirmaster and organist Arno Hartmann. He founded the Vienna Capella Lutherana Choir and Orchestra, performing pieces by baroque masters. Their musical programme also comprises contemporary liturgical music with, amongst others, compositions by Heiller, Alain and Holik.
